 Cricket Club

Nacton Cricket Club was founded in 1787 and, based in Nacton Village, offers cricket to all players of 15 years and upwards regardless of ability. There are two teams, the Saturday Team playing in Division Six of the "Two Counties" League and the Sunday Team playing in Section D of the "Medite" League.

The club is always looking to recruit new members to help it continue the great tradition of competitive cricket within the confines of a friendly village cricket club. If you like cricket (and a few beers afterwards!) give them a ring on 07539 676000 or 07784 721889 and ask for Nacton Cricket Club!

Flower & Vegetable Show

A summer Flower and Vegetable Show is held at Orwell Park School on a Saturday during July.  This major event is only eclipsed by the spring show held in the Village Hall on a Saturday in March. At this show you can purchase (for a moderate coin) a seed potato to grow in a regulation bucket to present at the summer show. The heaviest crop - buckets will be turned out and the contents weighed by the experienced staff at the show - will win a fabulous proze and, it goes without saying, fame.

The spring show also features the competion for the Daphne Watson cup. This is won by the best presention of Suffolk Rusks, a long standing Nacton tradition. If you would like to enter and need the recipe click on the recipe here.
